Soname’s songs inevitably look back to her lost homeland. To the rivers and streams, the mountains, the flora and fauna: Yak, eagle and horse of the Tibetan steppe. Soname’s music encompasses the vast wastes, the loneliness of the high deserts, the crystal skies and amethyst lakes. Her beautiful voice, adorned with overtones and undertones, is cushioned here by beautiful, sympathetic arrangements in its wistful longing for a lost homeland. A select group of musicians from India and the west flesh out the unadorned message to create affecting and charming music.
