Miguel Poveda

When he was fifteen years old, Miguel Poveda started to sing in the “Peñas Flamencas” environment. In 1993, after winning four prizes including the “Lámpara Minera” (one of the most prestigious prizes in the Flamenco area) in the national singing contest, “Cante de las Minas” in La Unión (Murcia-Spain), he started his professional career. He has also participated in the most important national and international music festivals and has sung in prestigious places as the Odéon Theatre (Paris), the Barcelona Liceo, the Teatro Real (Madrid), the Carnegie Hall (NY), the Lincoln Center (NY), the Auditorio Parco della Música (Rome) and Sadler’s Wells (London). He has collaborated with many artists including Santiago Auserón, Enrique Morente, Israel Galván, Eva la Yerbabuena, Martirio, Rodolfo Mederos and Mariza.
